Exercise and Psychological Well-Being
Title: Week Seven Forum Exercise and Psychological Well-Being
Week Seven Forum- Exercise and Psychological Well-being 100 pts.
Due Date: End of Week 7
After reading our assigned material and the Lesson in our Lesson section:
When people consider whether to exercise, they weigh the pros and cons. The more benefits a person is able to identify, the more likely it is that the person will become more intrinsically motivated to exercise. In this Forum, imagine that you are working with a person who doesn’t exercise regularly and is really struggling to find a positive exercise habit.
Although exercise has obvious physical benefits, it has also been shown to have positive psychological effects. Make a bullet point list of these 8 positive effects and briefly add a short description of how you would create your unique guidelines and procedures for a daily habit to maximize the positive effect of exercise on these areas of psychological well-being (feel free to add positive psychology strategies to motivate exercise, yoga, meditation, or other helpful additions along with tools such as journals, calendars, check sheets, vision boards, apps, etc.):
Recommend a schedule of habits with time of day, type of exercise throughout the day, and level of intensity of exercise.
So the question is: how do you design an exercise daily habit to boost your psychological well-being? And again, it’s time of day and it also is what kind of an exercise program you design. Therefore, the type of exercise does matter.
Your goal here is to both persuade the non-exerciser and design an optimal plan to boost psychological well-being from exercise.
Provide 2 or 3 references of where you found your information to share with other students who could use your resources in the future.
Note: Take time before posting to read ALL of the instructions below. Doing so will help you avoid point loss.
For each forum, respond by Thursday of this week. Then, by Sunday reply to a minimum of two classmates. Your first post (the one due by Thursday) must be a minimum of 250 words and a minimum of two required replies must be 100 words each. Partial completion of discussion board work (first post without both replies, or one or two replies without the first post) or posts not at or above the length requirements, or any posts containing copied or quoted material may earn zero points, no exceptions. Replies must show that you are respectfully responding to what the classmate said.
Forums are opportunities for you to reflect, analyze, and even challenge thought, but proper netiquette rules must be followed. Reiterating what other students have already said and/or directly quoting them won’t earn points. All published materials used MUST be paraphrased (restated in your own words) and source credited both in the body of and in a list at the end of each post where any content is based directly on or inspired by a published author’s writing. In addition, you are required to apply in-text documentation and end references to all initial forum posts.
Each week you must incorporate into and apply idea/concepts from the week’s assigned readings to your first post (the one due by Thursday). This will be evidenced by clear identification of the ideas/concepts so the reader can easily locate them in your post an explanation of how they fit and their pages number locations in the course textbook.
Keep in mind as you write that “incorporating” doesn’t mean just tacking onto the end or randomly placing so you can say you did it. The ideas/concepts must be logically placed in the post in a way that fits with the flow of the rest of the writing.
